about Deborah

Deborah is a Berlin-based analog photographer and biotechnologist with roots in Germany and Israel. With her passion for the tactile nature of film, she creates her 2nd-degree reality in capturing the atmosphere and emotions in front of her with a love for detail.

With 13 years, she started analog photography and never stoped pursuing her passion for film and unique challenges that come with it. Since 2016, Deborah exhibited multiple series at the Youth Culture Center, “Die Weisse Rose”, participated in analog photography festivals, and hosted two photo trips to Vienna and Budapest.

From October 2020 until January 2024, she supervised the analog photography group at “Die Weisse Rose”, successfully curated two exhibitions at the Youth Culture Center and hold multiple workshops in darkroom work, development processes, cyanotype and more. Besides her great experience in darkroom and photo lab work, Deborah has been working on projects which reach from nature to architecture to what is right in front her. What always accompanies her is the idea of how light can make something appear in a new context and where the point of abstraction begins.
